Every year Pagewood Botany Football Club (PBFC) host a Memorial Day in honour of Dimos Mastoris. This year is the 14th Anniversary of the Dimos Shield – played between PBFC and Waverly Old Boys –taking place on Saturday 11th May 2019 at Jellicoe Park.
The Dimos Mastoris Memorial Day celebrates the life of Dimos – affectionately known as Dimi – who in August 2004 passed away whilst playing for PBFC.
Dimos could be best described as a hard-working family man who loved his work, loved his family and loved his soccer. He was a Treasurer and a Life Member of the club and was a passionate soccer enthusiast. Dimos also was a Director of NGFarah and was partly responsible for NGFarah becoming the major sponsors of the club for the past 15 years.
The day commemorates one of our true local legends in how he lived his life, how he conducted himself and how just about everyone who met Dimos absolutely adored him.
